Any broth made from bone is just amazing, something you just can’t get from a can.
This process is not short. Total cooking time can go well over 12 hours.
Prepare the Bones
Put the meaty bones on cookie sheet and put in oven 350F for no more than an hour.
Put bones in a pot and add vinegar. Vinegar helps draw out the minerals from the bones.
Fill pot with water. 4 qts.
Let the pot sit to allow the vinegar to work on the bones.
Boil the Bones
Put the roasted bones into pot. Scrape leftovers from the pan and any drippings into the pot. You can use heat and cooking wine to loosen up.
Bring to a hard boil and Remove all scum for 10 minutes.
Bring pot to a rolling boil. The goal is stillness on top boiling below. Leave top off.
Remove all scum. Repeat every so often.
Warning: One time I didn't have the burner all the way to low. In the morning there was no water in the pot and the bone and meat was burning! lol
